Waldron Lake Gauge To Be Reactivated
During the 1st quarter meeting of the St. Joseph River Basin Commission (SJRBC) Board of Directors last Thursday, 3/1, Randy Sexton, Noble County Surveyor presented a request on behalf of the Noble County Commissioners and West Lakes, to see if the SJRBC would sponsor 1/2 the cost of reactivating our Waldron Lake Gauge that was deactivated several years ago (due to funding cuts by IDNR). The USGS pays half and the DNR was paying the other half. The SJRBC agreed to begin funding our gauge. We will be working with Randy Sexton and USGS to get this reactivated ASAP and to potentially add features other than just height! This will be a much more reliable measure for us to monitor activities influencing our West Lakes Chain.
Motorboat Restriction Until Further Notice
The DNR issued a motorboat restriction. Boat usage is non-motorized until further notice.

State of Indiana Flood Assessment
WATER INSIDE YOUR HOUSE? The state of Indiana is sending a team to Noble County on Wednesday, 2/28 to access flood damage across the county. They are trying to come up with enough damage state-wide to try and quailify for a presidential declaration. If you have water inside your home or know anyone who does, please text or call Diann Scott at 260-273-9441. We will use Tuesday to set up locations for the team to visit on Wednesday. Remember, this is for any water inside your home (not crawlspace or detached buildings).
